Be Patient:Don't expect visitors to come flocking to your site right after you submit your site to the search engines and directories. Search engines may take two -three weeks to index your site. Directories are reviewed by people they can take much longer, sometimes up to 6 months. Measure Your Traffic:Soon after your Web site goes live, you should take the time to set up a method to measure your traffic. Google Analytics is a free, powerful traffic measurement and analysis tool. Updates:Search engines revisit sites with new and updated pages more often than they do static sites. Include a What's New page to inform your visitor's what pages have been updated. Resubmission:Many search engines will block your site if you attempt to re-register too often. After the initial submission of a Web page, it should only be re-submitted for one of following reasons:
